Bio
Born in Victoria, B.C. Canada, La Reina has been writing since a very
tender age. First a poet, she was introduced to writing rhymes and a deeper
sense of expression by a close friend and emcee, and has not looked back.
Her emphasis has always laid heavily on her lyrics, drawing inspiration
from positive and negative experiences in her life. After suffering
numerous tragedies in her life, and recognizing the dark place she was in,
she began to express it through hip hop: the only channel that gave her any
solace. These incidences served as the catalyst for not only her creativity
and growth as an artist, but also her healing.
Recording whenever and wherever she could, Reina found herself meeting more
and more people involved in music and found it to be no coincidence at all.
Working with local producers, she began to evolve from a shy girl with lots
to say, into a strong woman who says what she means.
Spitting in both Spanish and English, she strives to be heard and remains
devoted to her dream of sharing herself and her life through lyricism and
storytelling.
